Welcome, Friends
We’re Kaleb and Christa Hanshaw, founders of The Wild Country — a vision born from our passion for homesteading, permaculture, community, and the arts. We hope to be a meaningful resource for you and your family.
Whether you're just beginning your journey toward a more self-sufficient lifestyle, dreaming of turning raw land into a thriving homestead, or seeking guidance on creating a resilient, regenerative space, you're in the right place.
Our work is deeply rooted in a relationship with Yahweh. We don’t hide that — we live it out and share it freely. Over the years, we’ve lived the life we now help others build. We’re here to walk alongside you, offering permaculture land design and education, hands-on homesteading experience, and a supportive network of like-minded folks. Whether you’re looking for a full design plan or simply a fresh perspective and honest guidance, we’re excited to collaborate and grow something beautiful with you.
Welcome to our little corner of the world. Let’s dig in.
With gratitude,
Kaleb & Christa Hanshaw
(and our six kids — Abby, Anna, Rebekah, Silas, Eleanor, and River)
